“Running a bookstore was a dream for me, but now I need to get on with other dreams,” she wrote.

Hunter Street Books opened at 170 Hunter St. W., between The Night Kitchen restaurant and Henry’s Barbershop, in late October 2016.

Soon after the COVID-19 pandemic struck in March 2020, the store closed its doors for good and Berry continued doing business online.

At first she offered home delivery of books, and more recently customers have been picking up all purchases at Meta4 Contemporary Craft Gallery (two doors east along Hunter Street).
